Our Florida Baby-moon!

ba-by-moon noun: a vacation taken by a couple that is expecting a baby in order to allow the couple to enjoy a final trip together before the baby is born
Aaron & I just took our last pre-baby vacation to St. Augustine, Florida and it was amazing.  I highly recommend a baby-moon to any expecting couples.  :)  We were blessed to be able to use Grandmama & Papa's timeshare and spend a week down in Florida just getting some sun, playing some golf, and enjoying spending time with each other.  This week was my spring break (Spring Break 2012, woohoo!  jk) so Aaron took the week off & we headed south.  The drive with a pregnant lady was a little different (more frequent potty/stretch breaks) but really not too bad at all!  On the way down, we were able to stop in Jacksonville at my cousin Janice's house & see a lot of my cousins that I haven't been able to see in a while... it was so great to see everyone!
My cousins on the O'Hare side of the family   :)
Cousins & spouses
Janice & Scott were so sweet to have everyone over for dinner!
There were 22 of us, 10 of which were little ones.  :)
Playing outside with Bryan!
Janice's youngest, Blake.  He's adorable!
Dave & Kristy's youngest, Josia  :)
The resort we stayed at was a golf resort, so of course Aaron was a happy camper.  And any place where I have sunshine, a pool, & a good book makes me happy.  :)

Amy, we ate Kilwins in honor of you!

We went to the outlets & I couldn't help it!  :)
And a lunch date with Janice on our way out of town.
She just had her 4th child, so she had lots of great advice for us!
It was a great trip but I'm excited that soon we'll get to take little Davis along with us.  :)

27 Weeks... and Easter!!

Well we're at 27 weeks, so this is our last week in the 2nd trimester!
This is a sneak peak of the built-in bookshelves and toy boxes/bench
Aaron & my dad have been building this past week in the nursery!
Davis got these adorable shoes in the mail from "Aunt Emily" this weekend and I can't wait for him to wear them!!!!!
We also go to celebrate Easter with our families this weekend.  :)
You're never too old for an Easter egg hunt!
Happy Easter!!

Cookouts & Cornhole!

I really love spring time.  Partially because my birthday's in the spring and I love birthdays.  :)  And partially because I love the weather & how beautiful all the new blooms are!  Since this is our first spring with a back yard, we're trying to take advantage of that with lots of cookouts with friends!  Last weekend, we had some of the Westover middle school volunteers over and we had such a great time... can't wait to have them over again soon!!

You look good in that apron Daniel!

Westover is blessed with really, really great volunteers in the middle school.  These are just a few of them, but they are all pretty amazing!  And if anyone is ever interested in volunteering, I know a guy who would love to get you connected...  ;)  Ha

Flooring the attic

Our attic was getting a little (ok, a lot!) cramped and we knew we were going to need to put a lot more up there once we made a guest bedroom into the nursery.  So Aaron and Matt got some more plywood from Home Depot & finished flooring the attic to give us more space.  And I'm so so so happy to have more room up there & to have everything cleared out of the soon-to-be nursery!!  Now I can't wait to get the nursery done!
We finally got the nursery almost cleared out...
(Thanks Kristen & Jessica for your help!)
But this is what the den looked like pre-attic floor!
Thankfully it only looked this terrible for about a day.
This extra space makes me so happy!!
So much more room for our junk  :)

I'm so thankful I have a handy husband & brother-in-law!!  :)
