再见 {Goodbye}

Aaron & Stacy have been in the U.S. all summer and it has been such a blessing!!  They were here when Davis was born (well... in Houston with the rest of my family, since Davis decided to come on Micah & Virginia's wedding day!) & have gotten to know him, which I am so thankful for!!  But, sadly, we had to say goodbye to them last week.  They're going back to the Himalayas and probably won't be back for two years.  Which means Davis will be running all over the place when they see him again!  :)
Meeting Aunt Stacy & Uncle Aaron for the 1st time!
Celebrating Aaron O's birthday at our house...
{which basically consisted of Isaac deep frying everything he could find}
Snuggling  :)
At the BEACH!!
Celebrating Aaron R's birthday...
and playing in his new wheelbarrow!
Last family meal at mom & dad's house...
Davis & Aaron are both sad that we'll have to say goodbye!
Getting in some last minute snuggling before heading to the airport.
Gonna miss Aunt Stacy!
Saying goodbye at the airport
We love you guys!
We miss you Aaron & Stacy... and are so thankful for Skype.  :)

Mana for Moms

In a letter to new moms on her website, Megan Breedlove writes, "I well remember the feeling of holding my first child, a daughter, in my arms and being overwhelmed with love for her. I didn’t even know I was capable of such love until I met her. I love her so much I would die for her, if necessary. I’d throw myself in harm’s way without a second thought if it meant I could save her. And what I wish I’d realized at the time is that my love for my daughter is a mere reflection of how much God the Father loves me. In fact, God not only would sacrifice Himself for me and you, but He did. John 3:16 tells us that Jesus died on the cross so that you didn’t have to. Why? For the glory of God, certainly. But also because He loved you. Yes, God Almighty loves you that much. So when you hold your precious baby in your arms, think about that. That love you feel welling up in you, threatening to burst your heart? It’s but a fraction of the powerful love God feels for you."
It's been so amazing for Aaron and I the past few weeks to think about how much God must love us if we know it's infinitely more than we love Davis. Babies are such a blessing and such a great reminder of How great God's love for us is.

Oh {Photo} Shoot!

When Davis was 2 weeks old, our friend Lindsay Cloer came and took some newborn pictures for us.  Here are some of the pictures of our sweet pea...  :)
Thanks Lindsay!

My Little Beach Bum!

Last week Aaron, Davis, and I packed up the car and headed for the beach!!  And when I say packed the car, I mean packed . completely . full.  It's ridiculous how much stuff we took just for one tiny human being.  This was Davis's first long car ride and he did beautifully.  He slept the whole way there & the whole way back and his mommy couldn't have been happier.  :)  My mom's whole side of the family was there (well, most of them) so it was fun to hang out with cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc.  I think we counted 27 people total!  Here are some pictures from Davis's first beach trip... it was a success & we had a really great time!
I love my family!
Crabby  :)
Davis wasn't actually the youngest one there.
He was 5 weeks old and Molly & Lily were 3 weeks old.
Davis was definitely still the cutest one there, though.  :)
Cousin Maddy
So glad Maddy & Brenton were here from Germany!
And so glad Aunt Stacy and Uncle Aaron were in America, too!
Aunt Theresa
And Cousin Bryan came up from Florida!
My mom came over to our house in the mornings and played
with Davis so Aaron & I could go back to sleep.  Love her!
Happy boy!
Everyone watching the sea turtle excavation.
75 sea turtles hatched outside out houses the night we got there.
Cousins!  :)
On the beach with Mimi!
Stacy & Aaron!!  It's been such a blessing to have them in the country!
Eliza's photography skills.
Watching the Olympics with Daddy!
We missed you Micah, Virginia & Isaac!  And I'm not sure where Josh was?
Thanks Aaron.  You know what you did.
Davis also got to meet my 2nd Cousin Whitney and her daughter Iris!
I think Iris & Davis are 3rd cousins.  ??
Living the dream!
He stole my heart with this little grin.  :)
So thankful for time together!
Davis, I hope you like the beach and playing in the waves when you get to be a big boy!  :)
