Introducing the class of... 2034?!?!

When we were leaving the hospital, they gave us a sheet of paper with some fun facts about being born in June 2012 (like the fact that the average cost of gas was $3.75/gal, June birthstone is a pearl, etc.).  Here were a few of the facts:  Babies born in June 2012 will start kindergarten in 2017, be old enough to drive a car in 2028, finish high school in 2030, and will graduate from college with the class of 2034.  Oh wow.  I don't even want to think about the day when Davis leaves for college.  When I got home from the hospital and read the sheet, I definitely cried.  Thank you pregnancy hormones.  But I'm really excited about some of the precious babies that have been born this year and should be in Davis's grade in school.  Two of my very best friends had babies this year and Davis has gotten to meet their kiddos!  And he's got many more Class of 2034 little munchkins to meet soon...  :)
Davis is so comfy with Mer!
Meredith & Ryan's son, Mason, was born in September 2011.
Mason's trying to figure him out.  :)
Davis, Mason's going to be one of your good friends!
Davis's 2nd time meeting Miss Caroline, who was born in April 2012.
Picture attempt #1.  Unsuccessful.  :)
There we go!  Peaceful sleeping babies!
I'm excited for them to grow up together & be friends.  I hope Davis has friends that are as big of a blessing as Katherine & Meredith have been to me!  :)

A look back at July...

Here are a few of the pictures from this past month with our little man...  :)
Relaxing in the hospital while mommy & daddy just stared at me.
Got to meet lots of wonderful family...
...and friends!
We got to go home as a family of 3!
I spent my first few weeks sleeping in the cradle
Grandaddy Rick had made when my mommy was
a little girl.  :)
I practically lived on my Boppy Lounger!
Thanks Mama Lee!
I went on lotsss of walks around the block & at the park.
I celebrated my 1st Fourth of July!
I'm not sure how I feel about taking baths yet.
But I love getting my hair washed...
And my Carolina hooded towel!  :)
Miss Emily comes over all the time to hang out with me!
My grandparents all love me a lot!
And I got to hang out with Uncle Ike while he was in town this summer.
I went to Westover for the 1st time.
And I turned 1 month old!
Whew, busy month for little Davis!

Davis is 1 month old!

Davis is one month old today... I can't believe it!  We went to the pediatrician today and he's grown from 6 lbs, 12 oz to 9 lbs!  He must not be listening when I ask him to stay little...
It's been a really great first month.  :)  Your mommy and daddy love you a lot, little mister!

First Family Trip to Church

Today was the first week we took Davis to Westover and he did a great job for the service and for middle school!  It was so refreshing and encouraging to be back at church.  And Davis got to meet lots of friends!  :)
Aaron & I were both blessed tremendously by Westover throughout our childhood, and we pray that it will be a blessing to Davis as he grows up, as well.  :)

4 Years!!

Four years ago, I married my best friend.  We have learned so much together through marriage, and I am so thankful!  To celebrate the past four years, we left Davis with his Mimi and went on our first real date since he was born.  :)
"May God, who gives this patience and encouragement, help you live in complete harmony with each other -- each with the attitude of Christ Jesus toward the other.  Then you can join together with one voice, giving praise and glory to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ."  -- Romans 15:5-6

"Never Grow Up"

Your little hands wrapped around my finger
And it's so quiet in the world tonight
Your little eyelids flutter 'cause you're dreaming
So I tuck you in, turn on your favorite night light

To you, everything's funny
You've got nothing to regret
I'd give all I have, honey
If you could stay like that

Oh, darling, don't you ever grow up
Don't you ever grow up
Just stay this little
Oh, darling, don't you ever grow up
Don't you ever grow up
It could stay this simple

I wish I could keep Davis this small forever.

Hello Handsome.

I took these when Davis was 2 weeks old...  I think he has a career ahead of him in modeling.  :)
I love this little peanut so much.
